Step By Step Towards Final Outcome

Final Outcome

In regards to my final outcome I decided to go with design 4 as it shown more structure, and outlined elegance and diversity. I did make small changes as I removed the veiling as I believed the large up scale of the head piece looked beautiful without the ivory veiling. I didn't believe it needed additional touches as the design itself is very cold and sophisticated using the veiling would of taken that away from the overall design. I believe my final outcome followed through my intentions on what I planned to produce. I found it ticked all boxes as it did shown that element of diversity in everyway possible

Developing from my first and third designs, it enabled me to be creative and push my fourth design further o it shows elegance and style with a hint of boldness and sophistication. producing this design  I added, elements of wiring to form the fabric so it would be more large scale and shows folds and pleats . when presenting my design adding ivory veiling, covering the eyes to give it the finishing touch

This third design is more structured and is inspired by Stephen Jones. I was more focused on, forming a large upscale headpiece. which would show pattern but elements of fine detail and embroidery stitch, with more of a structural effect. finalizing the overall design with a hint of veiling that shows classiness and flair

My second design is more diverse, doesn't contain any form of structure. it was more about concentrating on the patterns, and forming folds and pleats within the overall design. Reflecting on my artist gathering elements of folds and up scale design , then combined that element with my design.

Reflecting on my fashion research, based on my two designers. I gained inspiration form Philip Treacy, which shows an element of elegance and sophistication. it enabled me to push, my design further by layering fabrics together, incorporating my imagery within the design.

Experimentation- Laser Cut Into Fabric, Layering With Organza & Satin

 

I produced a series of prints showing development, how I want my fabric to be layering. when it comes to producing pleats and folds within my head piece. to develop it further I considered on adding small sized diamonds reflecting on the design of my print. laser cut into my organza showing creativity and effectiveness when both fabrics are layered together.

Reflecting on different surfaces and exploring with different techniques. I printed my two digital designs onto crystal white organza, layering them both together. which presented a combination of pattern prints, you were able to see the two designs merged together, but came together as a whole. Printing my design onto a cream satin empowered me to be creative as the overall contrast of the print, fit well in when the overall design were layered together. layering both satin and organza together gave me an idea on which design would work overall in terms of, complimenting the pattern, or there being some form of clash

working towards my final piece I plan to contract a form of head piece which is diverse and shows areas of elegance, sophisticated-ness and diversity. building up a mood board of a range of imagery to help bring ideas together on how I would construct it in terms of embellishment, it being more large scale or structured in a certain way. for it to show that the diversity and effectively relate to my theme title.

Merging Colours Together

 

throughout my project I have combined my contextual reference together to show development within my work. although while combining to pieces of work which are the total opposite of each other can either work or clashed. from the two pieces of samples I produced which shown, strong vivid colours along with calm and expressive blues, this development overall clashed. I believe it didn't combine very well or compliment the use of colours. an area to improve on in the further would to focus on developing this further changing the colour plate to more of a pastel plate to relate and merge together with the colour scheme of Kumo Shibori




Digital Desgin- Printed Onto Fabric With Embroidery Stitch

 


from creating a pattern from my laser cutter, cut outs I digitally imported them onto Photoshop. to build upon the design and to produce a series of sample that I would be able to bring forward and develop on. from the use of colour from my chosen artist and the media experimentation I produced and digitally made a series of response showing a variety of diverse pattern which has elements of embroidery stitch, and another which is swarming in patterns linking within the colour scheme. But overall works really well, as you see a glimpse of the originally design within all the others crowded together.


Mono Print With Shibori



I produced a Mono print combined with Shibori, using an expressive choice of colour fabric layered with a mono print of a building which I captured, and merged the two together. I find this sample very diverse as combining the two together are very unusual but it was something that works really well together as the forming of the shape from the buttons means you're able to see elements of the stitch underneath, giving you elements of patterns collided together

Incorporating Primary Imagery - Forming Pattern

Once producing a series of samples linking to the artist I was influenced by I decided to experiment with use of shape and colour, by creating a pattern mainly reflecting on my primary imagery. and adding elements of embroidery stitch. I used the laser cutter to get the repetitive strong diamond shapes which were influenced by the diamonds in the building, and layered on top which worked really well together. to develop this further I linked my second sample to my chosen artist Georgiana Paraschiv, including circles which were off balance layered over my sample with continuous ivory embroidery stitch.

Heat Transfer Print With Embroidery

 

I digitally produced  a sample combining both mono prints together of the buildings from my last development printing the design onto fabric by the heat transfer adding additional  embroidery stitch in elements of the print to identify the small fine expressive details of the buildings

Digitally Developed Merged Response

Working from my tie dye  Kumo Shibori developed samples, I digitally merged both samples together as further development to show the expressive bold fine detail which is present in the buildings. Merging the both samples together I believe it shows diversity and works really well as the vivid strong colours compliment the drawing and adds finishing touches.

Tie Dye- Inspired By Kimno Shibori

I was extremely inspired by Kumo Shibori the use of colour and visual elements which were present in the work I found very inspiring. in relation to their work I produce two samples both diverse in terms of colour tones and boldness, as I was bale to compare and contrast on both samples, and bring either one or both forward for further development.

From my first experimentation of expanding colour and re-creating a pattern with the strong vivid colours I developed those samples further by adding elements of, the blocked shapes, contrasting both warm and cool colours, together to see what outcome I would get. I found the first response I created, the use of colours worked really well together,r and complimented the overall design sample. my second sample I found that elements, of the cool blues did appear in, the digital sample and worked really well. I enjoyed expanded and adding different techniques while be creative and forming a new pattern.


Expanding Colour & Re-creating Pattern

 

I aimed to re create  pattern using more strong vivid colours, working from a watercolour sample I produced I developed it onto Photoshop, merging and combining colours together so they blended in perfectly, one printed onto fabric I then created a pull a stitch which meant each element from the fabric print was merged together and re created a new pattern which worked together very well. as the colours complimented each other perfectly.

Reflecting on my primary imagery, I recreated the image adding a combined laser cutter sample which I merged together which is layered with shaving foam prints which relates to my chosen artist Georgiana Paraschiv, who creates digitally prints working with pastel and expressive colours along with geometric shapes. I was inspired by her use of technique.

I explored and captured a wide range, of imagery that would reflect on the title.I have taken imagery of a range, Morden buildings and my surroundings that were located in Media City. The buildings had elements of repetitive pattern, and continuous shapes and were constructed, differently to everyday Morden buildingsbasing my project on Some Different enabled me to explore a wide range of imagery that would have elements of diversity. allowing me to take elements of the designs and make them as my own being influencedby the repetitive patterns and shapes that were present in the buildings
